The Aftermath

A quick look back -

I thought the weekend lived to everything I thought it could be (except no one got kicked off campus) and loved every minute of it. Too many things to put here, but I loved seeing KA Brothers who graduated 20-30 years apart talking for 20/30 minutes together at Alex’s and at the House. Really showed that KA Brothers have a something that goes beyond whether we pledged or went to school together. It was a beautiful thing.

Also - someone took the Klansman banner and the Jack Daniels-style banner. I'd appreciate any leads on who that was...

Now, a look forward -

First things first -

So, the feedback from AU was “unexpected, “ to say the least. Janet Marble from AU runs Reunion weekend every year. She asked a few Sigma sisters to get the word to me and I spoke to her in person on Sunday morning. The school absolutely loved the band party and the feedback they got from (non-KA) alumni was great. To the point that AU has put the following offer on the table:

If we will have someone organize our alumni and bring decent numbers to Reunion, the school will pay for the band, if AU can call it a Klan Alpine Band Party. They would like to make this a regular part of Reunion, as they say it was definitely a draw for them, even outside of Klan brothers.

The feedback I got from Sigma was that they had several sisters who were really looking forward to the Band Party this year and it may have even pushed some if their alumni who were on the fence into going. One pitch from Sigma was to make their trip to the distillery in Hammondsport that was all Sigma this year into a KA/Sigma event as part of Reunion. AKO also was there in force and I’m sure we could do something with them, if we wanted to, as well.

I’m just throwing this out there, to let you all know that AU, etc. is hoping we do this again. Maybe someone sets up an online poll to see what the feedback is in an annual event in Alfred vs. one every xx number of years, versus something completely different - I.e. KA takes on Sin City…. Someone feel free to step up and set up a poll.

Secondly - and just as importantly, Erik Williams set up a Google Drive for us to upload pictures from the weekend (and whatever else)I know a shitload of photos were taken last weekend, put them up for everyone to see, download, etc. I’m told the Google Drive allows us to have full resolution photos as opposed to Facebook.
